New music for November

Excuse the overly apple pic, but I think it sums up how most of listen to music anyways and I’m writing this on my iPad, so it’s kind of apt. Thought I’d post a few YouTube links of some of my face music I’ve been listening to at the moment thanks to the wonderful rhapsody app. I swear that thing is the best app in the entire iTunes store.
Grouplove – Colours – only heard this today. Richard Kingsmill was interviewing them about how they all randomly met and regardless if the band makes it big their story could make a decent movie either ways. They all seem so nice and fun. I hope their debut album does well once it comes out.
Twin Shadow – I can’t wait – You know how a lot of bands who try to go retro sound over the top pr deliberate by the time the song is heard it just doesn’t work? This band isn’t one of them. It’s not over the top. In fact, if I didn’t know it was a new album I would swear it was something straight from the 80s vault. It’s got a great sound to it. I like it a lot.
Matthew Dear – You put a smell on me – From what I’ve read, this guy is a somewhat famous DJ who occasionally gets into solo music. It’s a great electro feel, I was almost turned off by the slow boring opening track but it picks up a lot though out the album. Great background music when you’re in the car, or working.
Best Coast – Boyfriend – The girl needs a decent producer. It gets a little muddy in parts, but the pop shines through and I would just love to see her live. Reminds me of something that the hummingbirds might have written if they were still around in some fashion today. My favorite song from the album is Bratty B I couldn’t find a decent YouTube clip. Have a listen to that one as well and tell me what you think.
With rhapsody I think i could very much so make this a regular thing. Why more people haven’t embraced this app is beyond me
